KC INKThat is Chet Duvenci of Mercy Seat Tattoo peering over my freshly inked arm. I got it for the holidays. It reads, "Ars Gratia Artis." It means, art for art's sake.
"Art for art's sake" affirmed that art was valuable as art, that artistic pursuits were their own justification and that art did not need moral justification — and indeed, was allowed to be morally subversive.

Broke the CameraIt was bound to happen sooner or later. Today, while filming an Operation 100, my camera suffered an injury. The metal body of the camera where the external audio inputs come in - SNAPPED. It was due to a combination of the cold weather and the 2 SWAT guys that landed on me when the armored vehicle I was riding in stopped short.
My trusty camera has been with me since May 15th. That's not bad.

The Maybee PartySunday night was Ryan Maybee's birthday party at Pierpont's. We ate well and drank fine spirits. I ordered a bottle of the 2001 Shafer Hillside Select, pictured above. It was delicious.
After dinner we retired to Harry's Bar in Westport for champagne and cigars. It was a good seven hour party. There are more pictures here on flickr.

Winter has ArrivedIt was 73 degrees last Tuesday evening. Today it is 24 degrees. The cold winter air has arrived and brought with it some ice and snow. The wind chill was 1 degree last night.
Needless to say I have unpacked my tactical long johns! I'm ready for the OP 100 below zero.
